A CSV with one row per wallet: the address and how many pieces of the collection it holds. It drops straight into the Multisender, which is what most people take a snapshot for.

No. The list comes from public chain data, so any collection can be read. Snapshotting a competitor before an airdrop is an ordinary way to pick who to reward.

Current holders, at the block you take it. Ownership changes constantly, so a list taken a week before a distribution rewards whoever held then, not whoever holds when you send.

Nothing, and they cannot tell. Taking a snapshot is a read of BaseScan: no transaction touches their wallet and no approval is asked for.

A flat fee per snapshot, regardless of how large the collection is. The figure is shown before you sign, in ETH.

Cheap to snapshot, cheap to act on

The snapshot costs the same wherever you take it; what differs is what you do next. On Base, distributing to the wallets you just exported costs L2 fees, so rewarding a few thousand holders is a decision about the reward rather than about the gas.
